Acquisition of 3,188 Line Miles of Imagery in One Day for WIU

On March 30, Surdex flight crews spent much of the day acquiring 6”, 3” and 1.5” Ground Sample Distance (GSD) imagery for our Western Illinois University (WIU) project. This project is a collaboration between 5 counties in western Illinois, local municipalities, and WIU. Surdex completed a 3-county project for WIU in 2015.

Surdex staff are making sure we stay on schedule and meet project deadlines for all our clients. Our flight crews are taking advantage of windows of good acquisition conditions, and our technical staff are working hard from home without disruption. As you can see in the flight tracker image, they made significant progress in one day—they captured a total of 3,188 Nautical Line Miles!
